This pattern for the hand warmers, which you can knit to the desired length, is offered in two versions.
The longer you knit, the prettier it gets!
As it requires a small amount of yarn, it is a great design for using up leftover yarn and for making multiple pieces as gifts.
The long version took about 5-6 hours to knit one side, and the short version took about 1 hour 30 minutes to knit one side.
It's a great project to quickly feel a sense of accomplishment. Needless to say, they are warm.

Long version : 8cm in width, 40cm in height, yardage is 180m
Short version : 8cm in width, 21cm in height, yardage is 96m
*needle
Use a 4mm 25cm short circular needle, 80cm or more circular needle, or DPN (glove needle).
You will need a circular needle of 4mm or less thickness to pick up sts from provisional cast on. A crochet hook is
necessary for provisional cast on.

Cast on and knit in the rounds, Increase for the thumb gusset. Knit for fingers. Knit thumb.
